I. Door and Window Profiles
The door and window profiles for overseas customers vary. Profiles from some Middle Eastern countries such as Saudi Arabia and Dubai, as well as American profiles, are larger than those in China. If the customer requests processing of the doors and windows according to their profile specifications, domestic standard processing equipment is usually unable to meet the processing requirements.
Angle Joiner: The working surface of the angle joiner for large profiles cannot accommodate them. It needs to be widened and enlarged according to the customer's profile or profile drawing. For example, for bulletproof doors in Israel, the profile wall thickness exceeds 3mm. It is necessary to confirm with the equipment manufacturer whether the angle cutting tool can cut such thick profiles. There are also some special profiles that ordinary angle cutting tools cannot handle, and special tools must be ordered.
Cutting Saw: American profiles are quite special. Using a push-type cutting saw will result in different cutting lengths due to different profile widths. For example, for Canadian customers, they prefer a cutting saw with the blade moving downward, so it is necessary to ask clearly which method they use for cutting.
End Milling Machine: The milling cutter for small ends is custom-made. It is necessary to test it with the material head and contact the customer to send samples of both the middle beam and the frame.
II. Window Opening Methods
Due to different regions, the opening methods of doors and windows for overseas customers also vary. Various opening methods require corresponding matching hardware as support. When the production of domestic standard hardware is insufficient or cannot be produced, it is easy to increase the production cost of doors and windows and even lead to delivery delays. Therefore, when communicating with the customer, it is necessary to confirm the opening method and contact the domestic hardware manufacturer to inquire about the availability of hardware parts.
European Region: The most common type of door and window in Europe is the inward-opening and inward-reversing structure. The opening of the door and window is centered on hardware, so the inward-opening and inward-reversing hardware in Europe has undergone three patent product upgrades.
Japan and Southeast Asia Region: The main types of doors and windows are outward-opening and sliding structures. Japan, due to its high population density and tight residential space, chooses outward-opening and sliding doors that do not occupy indoor space. For regions with frequent typhoon landings, the water tightness of traditional outward-opening windows and high-track sliding windows is excellent.
Other Regions: In the UK, the most common outward-opening windows are those with friction hinges as the load-bearing hardware, and the outward-opening or outward-suspended structure. In the US, it is a hand-operated outward-opening structure and pull-up window. In Northern Europe, there are outward-opening flip windows, European lifting sliding doors, inward-tilting sliding doors, compression sliding doors, and folding doors, and there are many other types.
III. Order Quotation
The profiles, processes, and window types required by overseas customers are all different, and the production costs and labor costs also vary. After determining the solution with the customer, pay attention to communicating details such as payment methods, currency types and amounts, and transportation methods when quoting.
Quotation: Common quotations for overseas customers are factory delivery price, FOB price, CIF price, cost plus transportation, etc. Factory delivery price is more suitable for door and window manufacturers with a small proportion of overseas orders or no overseas orders that have been concluded.
Payment Method: Payment methods include foreign exchange bank account payment, letter of credit, documents against goods payment, and acceptance against documents payment. The foreign exchange bank account payment method can be chosen, requiring the buyer to pay 100% of the payment before shipment, or the buyer pays a 30%-50% deposit and then pays the remaining amount before shipment.
There are also other details, such as choosing land transportation or sea transportation? Are there any special packaging requirements? Is marine insurance required, etc.
