When choosing doors and windows, many people only focus on the profiles and overlook the glass - the glass directly determines the sound insulation and heat insulation effects. Choosing the right glass can double the comfort level at home. The differences between various types of glass are explained in this article.

1. Ordinary white glass: The most basic type, with the lowest price, only has the function of allowing light to pass through, and does not provide insulation or soundproofing. It is now rarely recommended for home decoration, and is only suitable for temporary setups or spaces that do not require insulation or soundproofing. 

2. Tempered Glass: A must-have for safety, it is a fundamental component of home decoration windows and doors. After undergoing high-temperature treatment, when broken, it forms blunt-angle particles that will not cause injuries to the human body. It has strong impact resistance and is suitable for families with elderly or children. It is recommended that all home decoration window and door glasses be prioritized as tempered glass. 

3. Insulated Glass: A basic model for sound and heat insulation. It consists of two or more layers of glass, with an air gap in the middle. This design effectively blocks the transmission of sound and heat, and is a common choice for energy-saving aluminum window frames. It is suitable for most ordinary households. 

4. Low-E Glass: Energy-saving and sun-shielding type, suitable for street-facing and south-facing house layouts. The surface has a special coating that can reflect ultraviolet rays and infrared rays. In summer, it blocks the entry of heat, and in winter, it retains the indoor temperature. It also prevents furniture from fading. When used in conjunction with insulating glass, the energy-saving effect is even better. 

5. Laminated Glass: Excellent at reducing noise and preventing breakage. Suitable for street-facing, noisy areas (such as roads, commercial districts), or for families living on high-rise buildings. There is a layer of film sandwiched between the two layers of glass. In case of breakage, it won't scatter. Its sound insulation performance is the best among all types of glass, and it also has a deterrent effect. It is recommended that this type of glass be chosen for street-facing properties first. 

Practical combinations: For ordinary household use → Profile aluminum + insulating tempered glass; For areas with high street noise → Profile aluminum + laminated insulating glass; For facing south floor plans → Profile aluminum + Low-E insulating glass.
